The Firearms Safety Training Course is a course of instruction which includes classroom instruction on The Cardinals Rules of Firearm Safety, state firearm law, home firearm safety, handgun mechanisms and operation, and a component that requires the applicant demonstrate the ability to safely fire a handgun.
- Always treat every firearm AS IF it were loaded.
- Always Keep your Firearm Pointed in a Safe Direction
- Only point a gun at an object you intend to shoot
- Never point a gun toward yourself or another person
- Keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to shoot
- Always keep your finger off the trigger and outside the trigger guard until you are ready to shoot.
- CHECK YOUR FIRING ZONE.
- STORE FIREARMS AND AMMUNITION SAFELY.
- AVOID ALCOHOL AND DRUGS WHEN HANDLING FIREARMS.
- Never have ammunition in the same room while cleaning your firearm
