DC Unarmed Security Officers

To get a DC unarmed security license, you must complete 24 hours of pre-assignment training, pass a licensing exam, and submit an application to the Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs (DCRA). You will also need to meet age, citizenship, and English fluency requirements, undergo a criminal background check, and pass a health and drug screening. After getting hired, you must complete 16 hours of on-the-job training within 90 days.
