Security Training/MD Armed/Unarmed Guards

To get a security guard course in Maryland, you must be at least 18 years old and enroll in a state-approved training program, which is often a 12-hour course for unarmed guards and 12 hours for armed guards. The process also requires a criminal background check, fingerprinting, and submitting an application with the Maryland State Police Licensing Division. You will also need to pay a licensing fee.
